It Must Be Fall

It must be fall, because time is zipping by. The closer it gets to Christmas the faster time seems to speed past. Or maybe it is just me.

I was talking to Joy today and realized I never did post a picture of my Move It Out Monday start from last week. Yikes! I started Welcomes 'A Plenty VI Birds & Berries by Homespun Elegance. I'm working on the letters for "Welcome" and will go back and fill in the birds and berries later.

I'm sure the other design in the leaflet will get stitched eventually, it has acorns instead of strawberries.

This week for MIOM I started Meri's Queen Bee scissor design.

I'm changing the yellow from DMC 743 to DMC 729, just because I prefer something more gold and less yellow. I'm stitching over 2 on 32 ct Country French linen. I think this is going to stitch up very quickly.

I mentioned that I've been working quite a bit on the Bent Creek Spring Soapbox. Here is a progress picture.

It is really coming along! I'm still not in love with this banding. It is difficult to stitch on. I do love the colors and the whimsey of the design, so I'm sticking with it.

On Monday I went to Mom & Me and finally picked up my JCS Ornament magazine.

Yippie skippie! I've thumbed through and looked at the pictures about 20 times and looked up a few specific ornaments to see what fabric or floss was used. I haven't really read any of the recipes or notes from the designers. I'm pacing myself. Joy and I spent 2.5 hours on the phone this afternoon, and most of that time was spent discussing each and every ornament at length. Sheesh, you would think I'd be sick of looking at this magazine by now, but I've only scratched the surface!

While I was at Mom & Me I got to peek at the La-D-Da class project for the show. It is absolutely fantastic! I was excited before, but now I'm off scale. WOW!

Yesterday Ginger had an unexpected day off of work so I went to her house and we made tracks to Shamrock. I found way too many Homespun Elegance designs that begged to come home, but I limited myself to one, Blooming Summer Bellpull. There was a large basket of charts on clearance for $1 each and I found a stack that came home with me, including five Blackbird Designs charts. Can you say "mother lode?" I thought you could.

Ginger surprised me yesterday with a gift. I mentioned that I was looking for the Lizzie Kate Acorn Scissor Case. She found it in her stash and gave it to me!

Thanks a million, Ginger! You know I love it! Ginger has the Strawberry Scissor Case all stitched and it is so cute. Wouldn't you know, I managed to get a flash glare right over the acorn scissor fob. Ack!

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments about my projects! KarenV and Lelia are joining me for their own versions of MIOM. Very kewl! Anyone else? I think I'm forgetting someone and I hate when that happens. Terri asked how many designs I've started with MIOM. I had to consult my spreadsheet (eek!) to be accurate, but I believe I've had 22 starts. Anna asked if my finishes are keeping up with my starts, and I think the answer is "mostly yes." I've finished 17 of the 22 MIOM projects I started. Not too shabby! Overall I think I am on track to have my usual number of finishes this year, about 40. (Give or take a few.)

Time to stitch!

I am very impressed that you have completed 17 projects out of the 22 that you have started. I couldn't even begin to ever get close. Sounds like you had fun and got some great stash to boot!

I'm very tempted to join you in your MIOM, but with my shifts my week's stitching is usually pretty erratic ... I'll just have to enjoy your progress instead :)

Wow, 17 out of 22? That is impressive. And such a neat idea. Unfortunatley I'm way too disorganised to join you in your MIOM adventure.
I love the Spring Soap Box, and the band too!
