Framing Blowout

I think I mentioned a while back that I was taking a pile of finishes to Jeanne for framing. I did, and she did, and WOW do they look great! I took a few frames with me but otherwise I chose ready-made frames that Jeanne had or molding for new frames. Here is a group photo:

These will all be show entries next month in Lebanon. None of them are particularly well stitched, so I'm not ribbon-wishing. That isn't false modesty talking, either. I stitch with a magnifier and I know there are plenty of flaws. I just love to see my work hanging with the good stuff!

Jeanne is working on the rest of the pile, including Terre de France. The show is weeks away, so there is plenty of time. I mailed the entry forms on Monday. I sent information and fees for eleven entries. I'm not sure they will accept all of them, as I've stretched the definition of some of the categories just a bit. Time will tell! It is all about raising money for a local hospice, so I hope it works out.

Thanks for your comments about my Notebook Sample project! Anna asked about my initials. I don't like to "sign" my stitching. Sometimes I'll use two initials if the design calls for it, but in this case all three initials felt like a bit much. I decided to just stitch the M for Michelle and leave it at that. Really no big deal, but after the whole rip-or-don't-rip quandary I was not in the mood for one more decision!

Karen asked about MIOM. I am starting a new project every Monday, but whether or not I continue to stitch on that project during the week depends on whether or not the project is "speaking" to me. I have a screaming rotation - whichever project screams the loudest, that's the one I work on. I started the July sheep blanket on Monday the 4th, and continued to work on it because it was fun and stitching up quickly. This Monday the 11th I started the BOAF Notebook Sampler but last night I was sick of looking at it so I dug through my stitching basket in search of the chicken, aka Spring Soapbox. While searching I stumbled across a SusieQ Design from a class I took at Stitcher's Express in June of 2005. It screamed to be stitched, so I pulled it out. When it came out of the basket it only had the letters X and Y. Now look at it!

The design has several more alphabets, one of which is over one. The floss looks black in the picture but it is a very dark navy. I had a blast stitching this last night! I'm heading to Stitcher's Express next month for Camp Gotta Stitch. Wouldn't it be nice to finish this class project first? Anyway, I hope this rather lengthy explanation answers your question, Karen!

Oh my, your framed pieces are all soooo wonderful! I'm sure your stitching looks great, but isn't it all about enjoying looking at it all in the end?
I like your rotation system. Mine's quite like yours. All other forms of rotation have led to depression...

Kewl beans -- lots of newly crowned needlework. Good deal Chelle.

Aren't alphabets fun to stitch? I know one person that doesn't like to stitch letters; however, I could do them all day long

I have to look up the notebook kit. I'm so interested now that I've seen yours.

You enabler ... you

Ah yes, the screaming rotation. I know it well. :) Works for me, but then I haven't gotten anything big done in a long time, so maybe it's not...

All of those framed pieces look fantastci! That must have felt really good, bringing home that pile of finished projects. :)

Cool beanies! I love all your framed pieces! I especially love button sheep cause I finished it and it's waiting for ME to frame him, no frame shop this time.
Your rotation sounds alot like mine, do you ever hear your piece simpering in your WIP basket? Mine out-right SOB!

Keep up the great work...I am inspired!

Thanks for the info on Lebanon - I didn't realize how far away it was until I pulled out a map. I don't think I can pull it off - will be thinking of you when that weekend rolls around though!
