Garden Exchange

I participated in the Garden Exchange on the Stitching Bloggers Exchange BB. This was my third exchange. Every one of them has been an absolute delight!

Katrina stitched for me - it is a beautiful Sweetheart Tree design with butterflies, finished as a little pillow. It is stitched on gorgeous blue fabric. The pillow fabric is a paisley print with a soft silver metallic sheen. The shell buttons and hanging ribbon are just perfect! Katrina also spoiled me with a pile of goodies - a neat New Zealand postcard, a bar of lavender soap, a package of really cute buttons and two beautiful Silkweaver Solos fabrics. Can you say WOW? The pictures don't do this project justice - it is just delicious! Thanks Katrina! I love everything!

My "victim" for this exchange was Elisabeth. I used banding to make a little envelope style pocket. The design on the front is "Garden Gate" by Elizabeth's Designs. On the back I stitched Elisabeth's inital using the Victorian Ivy alphabet from the book 2001 Cross Stitch Designs. I found an interesting dragonfly bead at the local bead shop. It is made of bone and I though it made a good addition to a garden themed exchange. Here are a few pictures.

Right now I'm not signed up for any more exchanges, but that will have to change! The three I have participated in were so much fun. My finishing skills are improving and that is an added bonus. There is a mail art exchange forming and I think I will join. I love the look and the concept of mail art. I can't wait to try it!

In the next day or two I will show you a beautiful project stitched by my friend Tammy. It is absolutely amazing! I also need to answer some questions from the comment section and catch up with the SBQ. Miss Mary Mack is screaming at me. How in the world did I get so far behind? Thanks for your comments and support!
