The Blob, The Quilt and The Party

Yesterday I had quite a bit of free time so I responded to the screams of Miss Mary Mack. I settled down to stitch and immediately noticed that my last row of stitches was going in the wrong direction! The stitches were /// and the rows above them were \\\. Rats. Frogging on 40 ct fabric is not my idea of a good time. Luckily it was just one row. With that fixed I got back to all of those endless rows of skirt. My little blob of blue-black stitches is now a bigger blob of blue-black stitches.

The petit point continues to give pretty decent coverage. It looks better without magnification. I'm finding that the 40 ct fabric is relatively easy to stitch on (with light and magnification) but I have difficulty counting individual threads. This hasn't been a huge problem with the skirt, but I forsee issues when I get to the hair. Yikes! I know some of you have a face and hair or shoes stitched already. Color me jealous! Oh well, at least I still have those "exciting" parts to look forward to. I will pick Miss Mary up again next week.

Today was a busy day. I delivered the quilt to Sue. Here is a picture.

I love the crazy quilt design. It gives a common look to stitched squares that are otherwise very different from each other. This is an awesome quilt and Monique did a fabulous job putting it together.

This evening I had fantastic time visiting with Pam and Leslie. They are in town for the weekend and invited me to crash their party. I first met Pam and Leslie in October during the Mom & Me Show Meet & Greet. At that time we chatted but didn't really introduce ourselves. (The truth is they were talking to Lori Markovic and I barged in!) Later on we figured out that we are Legacy girls. Tonight I realized we are true kindred spirits! I laughed, stitched, and laughed some more. What a great time! Thanks for inviting me to join the fun. I'd love to hang out with you two again!

I'm still stitching on Snapperville. I can not put my fingers on the Palomino floss I need for the cow. Wouldn't you know it! I need to scoot to Mom & Me to pick up a skein. I hope I can work that into the weekend!

The quilt looks wonderful :) And it sounds like you had a real blast catching up with some kindred spirits ... way to go :) Don't envy you frogging that 40ct - crikey! LOL.

Your blob is a lot bigger than my blob. And I hate frogging on 40 ct! What a miserable job. So far, so good...

The quilt is simply amazing!

I adore this quilt design, so smart for putting together things that aren't equal. Mary will get fun shortly, smart to do the filling in first. Happy Stitching

Your get together sounds like a lovely time - always nice to meet kindred spirits. And good job on your MMM progress. I need to get back to her as well and figure out how to make her fit better in her frame.....

Quilt is wonderful.

MMM is coming along well, I couldn't stitch it on 40ct, I know I couldn't, so I think you are even cleverer frogging 40ct even though it was 1 row - awsesome!!

Hi Chelle. Your MMM is looking better than mine. LOL I have 1 foot done!! LOL I have a couple of stitched gifts to finish then I will throw all my energy into finishing her. Who knew she would become such a challenge! She looks so small and cute on the original necklace!

Love the blob and I LOVE the quilt. It's AMAZING!!!

My Miss Mary has a face & hair. It's not too bad as there's not alot of stitches in a row. You'll be fine. I'm about 1/2 way done but put her far down in the basket cause I have a few other things I have to work on.

Your blob looks pretty good! I have to get back to working on mine this week.

The quilt that you and your group of friends assembled is lovely too. I'm sure that it will bring a smile to your friend's face!

The quilt is beautiful!
