Crazy January Challenge Day 3 - Ewe and Eye and Friends "Petite Exemplary No. 1-4" stitched on a mystery piece of 35 count linen from my stash with the floss called for. This project has been in the Diane bag forever due to the mystery fabric. I was never certain it was big enough. It did not look big enough. Late last night I finally did all of the necessary calculations, and yes the fabric will be big enough. I probably started too far down and there won't be an equal amount of fabric at the bottom, but there should still be plenty for framing or a soft finish. I can't get over how tiny this is, just 2" square. The picture is awful, but will have to do for now.
You might notice that only a few of the stitches are crossed. Midnight was quickly approaching and I wanted the border finished. It didn't get finished, but half finished is fine for now. I can't wait to get back to this project. The pinks and greens are beautiful.

I think that's the hardest bit of the challenge for me - some pieces I don't want to stop stitching, and it kills me to put them down again and start something new the next day ... but then the next day I start feeling the same about the next project (usually anyway) ;) And isn't it crazy how the smallest things stop us from stitching a project - and how quick the task goes when we pull our fingers out and actually do that task ... I often kick myself afterwards wondering why I hadn't tackled it sooner! Glad to hear the fabric measurements worked out :D
I'm so impressed with your Crazy January Challenge progress. Love seeing all of your updates. (You're making me feel a bit guilty for not updating my blog, too, but please don't let that stop you from posting.)
Hey, I can't imagine how slender Diane must be these days. How many projects does she hold now? Fewer than 100?
