Finished At Last

At last, two important finishes. First, the dreaded Soapbox. I must say, things progressed more quickly once I switched to a jousting lance sized needle (my fingers like petites) but it was still a project filled with much bitterness and angst. Frequent frogging, multiple knots on the back, awkward q-snap positioning, blah, blah, blah. You get the picture. Oh wait, here's the real picture:

This is so long and narrow, it was not the easiest thing to photograph. I love the chicken, the chick with the crank, and the bee. I also love the colors. I do not love the banding. 'Nuff said.

My other finish falls into the "not stitching" category. I submit for your review this photo of my office:

I think "Wahoo!" about covers it. My final inspiration was Mark. He asked for sheers for the windows in his office. Yes my friends, that requires the sewing machine. I won't be sewing curtains by hand. At long last, a clean craft table! Did I mention...Wahoo? (I will *not* be submitting further pictures of my laundry closet. There might be one or two items stacked on the washer and dryer. But we won't talk about that right now...)

While I had the ironing board out to get the Soapbox ready for pictures I pressed a few more things. Here are a few pictures of my stuff from the La-D-Da class at the show. The pictures I posted previously were of Lori's sample for the class.

Lori suggested that we stitch each rose in a circle instead of going across the whole design in rows. While this was a bit of a pain, I think it really turned out nice.

This is my box. Lori was kind enough to sign my project card. Thanks, Lori! Speaking of the project card, did you know these are available for purchase? I saw them last night on the counter at Stitcher's Station. Very kewl!

Last month I made Sweetheart Tree scissor fobs as Christmas gifts for my "working world" mentors. They are both stitchers, but not quite as rabid as I am! Janet took home "Rhodes Butterfly":

Jane took home "Baby Bluebells"

I finished both of them (stitching and finishing) in one week. I'm very pleased with how they turned out! They look just like the photos on the leaflets except I only used one color for the cording and tassels.

I have a list of things to blog about but no more time today. Thanks for reading my blog!

Chelle, all your finishes are so awesome! OMG, I love that chicken!!! I have that pattern and I really have to do it. I just finished the winter soapbox. Yours looks wonderful and the colors are so awesome! And the fobs are beautiful, you really did a great job with them. I love the tassles. The roses are cool too. That was a great idea to stitch them in a circle. I will have to remember that. :) Ann.

You mean that table is blue?! Ha :) Very nice job of tidying up, congratulations! And I love the finishes (as usual). The banding looks neat- worth the trouble, eh?

Great work on your office! We don't need to see your laundry room. Your sewing/stitching area is all that counts!
Lovely fob-finishes. And no matter how tedious the Soap box was, the result is gorgeous!

I really, really love the fobs! Super job! I'm drawn to all those little projects lately and my 'to-do' list just keeps getting longer and longer, the more blogs I visit, lol.

I'm totally intrigued with the box. Is it a group thing or a project or a kit, or something else? I apologise for all the questions, I know the answer must be here somewhere but I'm just missing it I think.

It's awesome though! Really liking it. I do altered art and it's sort of a cross between that and cross stitch. Very, very nice :)

WOOT! Excellent job on the craft area : ) Wanna do mine??? JK : )

Sorry your banding was a 'bear'; however, it really is charming!

Excellent idea to stitch the flowers in a circular way ... I am guessing, with overdye something? The flowers are lovely!

And those fobs ... too kewl GF.

Enjoy the day. I stitched a couple squares on my game board & want to get more done this week. That project is so much fun - IMO

Chelle, your craft room looks great and so do the ornaments! Love that blue table. This weekend I did the same thing and cleared out my stash/computer room. Still have the desk to de-trash but it feels good to have gotten so much accomplished.
