MIOM Again!

Move It Out Monday has been officially re-instated. I must be completely 'round the bend to do this again!

Last night I started the July blanket for Homespun Elegance's Woolly Tyme Club. At first I was a bit puzzled because the instructions say to start stitching 3/4 inch from the bottom of the linen. After studying the photos and lots of measuring and even some math I figured out that the design is stitched more toward the bottom end of the blanket and the top part folds over the sheep's back. Doh! That finally gave me the confidence I needed to start stitching. I fudged a bit and started about an inch from the bottom. Here is a picture. There isn't much to see, but so far so good!

My sheep looks downright crazy in this picture, with 2 different color eyes and such. You might notice I have him stuffed but haven't sewn up the "surgical" site yet. Soon, very soon! I can't have him trailing stuffing all over the house...

I noticed that Michelle has her September blanket finished. Isn't it cute? I hope to catch up soon. Are we the only ones stitching this neat project? Maybe it is a Michelle thing.

I've been getting the nicest email lately. Do you remember the bee piece (with the messy back!) that I found at the thrift store? (See it here.) Sandra C. sent me a picture of her bee project stitched on 32 count evenweave. It is so pretty and very nicely framed!

Sandra C. says the design is by Patricia Andrle and is from a UK stitching magazine. Sandra also sent me a link to her stitching photo album. Oh my!! You can see it here. Her stitching is fantastic and her finishing is even better. Give yourself plenty of time to surf through it and drool. Thanks Sandra for letting me post your picture and the link to your albums. I appreciate it!

Thank you to everyone for the kind comments about my Terre de France finish! I still can't believe it is finished! Tessa asked if I'll be framing, and the answer is yes. In fact the frame has been purchased, I just need to wash and press the project and haul it to Jeanne for framing. This week maybe! Cathy asked if I have another large project that I'll be starting on. The answer is yes...sort of! I started My Home Town by Carriage House Samplings on March 30 of 2005 and got bogged down with color issues. I think I have those sorted out, so I'll be picking it back up. So yes I'll be working on another large project, but it isn't a new start. I love the design, so hopefully I can get back in the swing of things sometime soon. One more word on Terre de France, I emailed Annick Abrial and she is going to put a picture of my project in her gallery. Isn't that neat? Thank you Annick!

Right now I'm looking forward to more July blanket stitching. And I better get that sheep belly sewn up, too.

You finished Terre de France? I can't believe it! It's beautiful! I have the entire chart in my possession, but I don't know if I will ever find the courage to start. The sheep project looks like fun!

It is downright chilly & rainy here. I ran a bunch of errands this a.m. & just started the laundry.

Your lamb / sheep - blanket project is delightful. how charming & I've not seen it before. I'll have to follow the link for more details.

Your stitching is lovely. Danish or English - it looks good.

I didn't start MIOM [yet] will probably get things out in October. I've got two SALs [untouched in a long time] that I want to work on this month.
