A Flurry of Finishes!

Where to begin? I've finished quite a few things recently. I finished Part 23 of Terre de France on August 9th. I haven't taken another picture. At this point I'll just wait until I have the last part stitched next month. Very soon it will be finished. I can hardly believe it!

Miss Mary Mack is now in her tin pin. I've decided to wear her as a pin because I really never wear a necklace. If I change my mind I can always run a lanyard or chain through the back of the pin.

Last year I stitched Periwinkle Promises Antique Sampler Accent. This weekend I finished it into a pillow. I'm not an experienced tassel maker and I think these turned out pretty well, all things considered.

This design is by a local stitching friend. The "frame" is a Hinzeit charm. It makes a cute necklace or could be put on a charm bracelet. The individual picture did not turn out, so here it is with Miss Mary and the Antique Sampler Accent. Look closely - it is the itsy bitsy piece on the right!

At long last I put the buttons on Snapperville, so it is ready for framing. I made a few changes to my original "plan".

This is an Eventide Designs project called The Mighty Oak. I'm not in love with the orange on the acorns. Ok, let me be honest...I hate the orange on the acorns. I changed the green to a darker shade and should have changed the acorns as well. Too late now! Into the cedar chest it goes.

I managed to get the border finished for "Because Nice Matters". This is a Waxing Moon Design, and comes in a plastic case with the Kreinik Silk Mori skeins for the project. The border was a bit of a pain, but so worth it in the end.

This really isn't a finish. I found this frame recently for 75% off. I think it will be perfect for framing this Sheepish Designs freebie I stitched last year. Love the frame!

One last thing, I wanted to show you a project I "rescued" from Goodwill. It was in a cheap metal frame for $2. Isn't it cute? It was so nicely stitched and I loved the verse so I had to have it. When I got home and took it apart to wash and press I discovered the back. It gave me a good chuckle. Somebody was in a real hurry with the verse and backstitching!

Enough already! I think I'm done with finishes for at least a little while. It might be time to start Move It Out Monday again... (Did I say that out loud??)

Oh that's so funny, Chelle!!! I don't think I've ever seen such a tangle of threads on the back of a completed project! Actually, now I think about it, I have - one or two of my tablecloths (won on eBay) have been very untidy on the back. Bit disappointing as they can't hidden in a frame like your picture!

Chelle, i don't know where to begin on your finishing frenzie. Wow! I'm gobsmacked. Miss mary mack (sorry, my shift key isn't working well) tin pin is delightful -- good job. your periwinkle promises accent is beautiful. good job with the finishing & the tassels. Wow. Just lovely.

Snapperville is wonderful! and the orange acorns really bother you? Have you thought to try tea-dye? Might even out the color tones. Too bad it will live in the cedar chest!!! The design is really clever.

Your border on Because nice Matters looks like a nightmare. the end result is very nice though -- worth all your effort

What a neat find at the goodwill store -- PLUS, the discounted frame will be perfect for your sampler.

Cool Beans, MIOM! I'm not ready for MIOM (yet). I've got some EGA chapter stuff to do -- which I have post-poned too long. Maybe in September ... I made a lot of progress on my WIP stack.

Weren't you pulling out new stuff every Monday?
