Oh Dear!

Once again I've neglected my blog. Here is what happened. My last entry was posted on April 29th, "Quilt Show Link". I was so excited about the quilt show in Paducah and the amazing quilts I saw. I took over 150 pictures at the show and couldn't wait to share at least a few of them. I began to wonder about the quilt show in 2005 (and what I had missed!) so I searched the web for pictures. I was amazed at the lack of information about the 2005 show. I went back to the AQS site and found information about photographs. Sure enough, while you are permitted to take pictures during the show, you are not permitted to post them on the internet without permission from AQS and the quiltmaker. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand about protecting copyrights...but what a bummer to have pictures and not be able to share! It took the wind out of my sails. Now I'm over it. Sorry I can't share the pictures here, but that's just the way it is. You are all invited to my house so you can see them in person. Isn't that better anyway?

Speaking of visiting, I was invited to crash the party when Pam and Leslie were here over Memorial Day weekend. You ladies are a HOOT! It really was a fun day. You both need blogs. Guess it would help if I sent you the links I promised! Sheesh, I completely forgot until just this minute. Bad, bad me! See what happens when I don't write things down?

I want to apologize to all of the Miss Mary Mack-ers out there. I proposed finishing in May and then abandoned my post. I did finish stitching Miss Mary, but I haven't done the finishing yet. Did anyone else finish in May? I'm thinking of making Miss Mary into a pin instead of a necklace. I may be inspired to wear a pin, but the odds that I'll wear a necklace (no matter how cute!) are somewhere between slim and none. Here are a few pictures of Miss Mary. Instead of adding rows to make her taller to fit the tin form I decided to include a few rows of the border from the chart. I like the way it turned out.

Here is Miss Mary -

With the tin form -

A blurry close-up. I really need to get my scanner reconnected!

I'm still working on Snapperville. I'll be stitching on it this weekend as part of the Stitch-A-Thon on the Friends Gather BB. I'd love to finish it this weekend, but that is just crazy talk. I do hope to get a lot stitched. I'm several sections behind on Terre de France and I want to enter it in the cross stitch show in October. Gotta get caught up!

Speaking of the cross stitch show in October, this will be the last one that Mom & Me will sponsor. It is a sad, sad thing. I guess all good things come to an end eventually. I will certainly miss it.

I'm not going to end this entry with any sort of promise about what will come next. That seems to doom me every time. I have lots of ideas, so you'll just have to be surprised. The first surprise will be if I actually publish something, right? Thanks for your comments, I appreciate them. A big whopping "HOWDY!!" and "I owe you several emails" to Lelia. If you haven't checked out her blog lately you should go now. Her Sampler Game Board is looking great!

P.S. for Pam and Leslie...Snapperville is such a fun stitch!! (ducking!!)

So good to hear from you Chelle. I haven't picked Miss Mary Mack at all since the first time - but I will - eventually!

I love how you included the border rows too, she will make a very stylish broach.

Good to hear from you again.
