Thanks, Shout-Outs and SBQ September 16

I want to say thank you to everyone for the nice comments about the Tea and Thee round robin project. My Mom reads my blog and she said while she read it she had tears running down her face. Awwww Mom! I didn't mean to make you cry! Love you!

Thanks to Carol and Cathy for pointing me toward the Prairie Moon ornament in the new JCS ornament magazine. I have my copy but haven't had too much time to look through it yet. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the Prairie Moon design. Cathy I LOVE the Miss Mary Mack design! La-D-Da has so many great charts. Bea I promise to take pictures at the show next month! If you would like to see pictures from the last 2 years please look in my photo album. The albums are called Lebanon Show 2003 and Lebanon Show 2004.

At last the SBQ for the week!

Do you stitch for events like weddings, engagements, or other things that might not last? If you have been unlucky and the two people brokeup, what happened to your stitched gift?

I have stitched three wedding projects. The first one was for one of my brothers and his wife. It was a large project and involved some beading. I also paid quite a bit of money for custom framing. Frankly if anything happens to their marriage - heaven forbid - I hope they will put the frame to good use. I am not too concerned about the stitching. The second piece was for a friend of Mark's. He lost touch with the friend shortly after I got the project back from the framer. I still have it and would love to give it to them someday but that ball is in Mark's court. The third wedding project was for my niece who got married 4th of July weekend. It was a small Lizzie Kate design that fit in a photo box lid. It is not meant to be an heirloom, just a little something extra to go with her "real" wedding present!

EDITED September 17, 2005 to add this scan. It is the picture from the kit, not my stitched piece. This was the wedding present for my brother and his wife that I had custom framed. She loves and collects teddy bears.
